Patient Access/Receptionist BCFC

  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Experience: Previous medical office experience preferred.

Position Description: Receives all incoming telephone calls for multiple providers assisting patients directly or transferring the call as needed. Takes messages and distributes as appropriate using the Electronic Medical Record system. Will schedule appointments with all Providers making sure that the patient’s needs are met in a timely fashion and utilizing all Providers and locations. Communicates with all staff in a positive and constructive manner in order to coordinate the smooth flow of patients’ needs. Cross training will be required to encourage a teamwork environment. Greets customers in person in friendly, professional manner. Obtain/verify accurate demographic and billing information on patients at each visit. Obtain/verify eligibility via internet websites. Scan documents into patient's electronic medical record in organized manner. Collect co-pays and payments from patients. Maintains patient confidentiality. Fast paced, high volume environment requiring focus and attention to detail. Will adhere to all office and hospital policies and any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
